In the family for two generations, this addition and full renovation creates a warm, sophisticated modern hillside abode in charming Mill Valley. With floor to ceiling windows, a restrained palette in soft, light tones and trimless details, this home is serene and minimal. The kitchen is doubled in size and and the living room wall is removed to highlight the hillside views beyond. The primary bathroom expands into the front yard, allowing for a spacious ensuite complete with oversized windows and a walk-in closet. The rear balcony cantilivers out towards the open space, allowing more light to enter the lowest level. New windows and exterior plaster create a modern look that will endure for years to come.
